Chance encounter with Rick Steves - the author of our Italy guidebook! He was there for a Time Magazine photo shoot. The background is that my father spent three months preparing an itinerary for this trip using Rick Steves' book almost extensively. Unfortunately, he had budgeted this evening for laundry and missed seeing Mr. Steves. Sadly, our book was also left back at the hotel with my father, so we weren't able to get it autographed for him. Tragic, yet hilarious.
